Job Description

ISCE2 is seeking a talented Scientist / Emerging Group Leader to be part of a young, dynamic team to develop novel chemistry and bioconjugation platform for application in the emerging nucleic acid therapeutics (NAT) field. This position offers an opportunity to work in advanced organic chemistry, biochemistry and chemical biology to develop targeted solutions for applications in biopharmaceutical discovery and manufacturing. We are looking for an individual with a passion for science, health and/or sustainability who have a proven track record in organic chemistry, bioconjugation chemistry or related platform developments. The successful candidate may be responsible for but not limited to:

• Lead the research and development of bioconjugation and delivery platform for NAT applications
• Design and conduct experiments to optimize the bioconjugation platform
• Generate, analyze and present data to internal and external stakeholders
• Supervise and mentor junior researchers in the team (where applicable)
• Participate in the development of strategy and communicates results within a multi-disciplinary team
• Establish collaboration with internal and external partners to develop new, cutting-edge technologies and/or improve existing ones
• Devise proposals to seek competitive funding
• Write and publish high impact papers in peer-reviewed journals, alongside preparation of technical disclosures, patent applications
• Present research findings at conferences, meetings and to internal/external stakeholders
• Manage projects and resources to meet timelines and deliverables
• Represent the institute at industry meetings and events
• Other duties as assigned by the manager

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology or its equivalent
• Strong background in organic, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology
• With 2 years of post-PhD experience is preferred
• In depth experience with organic synthesis, analytical techniques such as biochemical assays, spectroscopy and chromatography
• Adaptable to team-oriented goals and requirements
• Rigorous data analysis and interpretation skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral/written communication, documentation and organization skills
• Meticulous, attention to details and organized
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task
