Job Description

We welcome applications for a Research Engineer position on Autonomous Fault Detection and isolation and Flight Control at the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The appointment is full-time and is funded for 1 year (can be extended to 2 1/2 years). The selected candidate will join a vibrant and dynamic research group, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to work on the following:

Key Responsibilities:

Designing intelligent fault detection units.

Developing learning-based/model-based/ hybrid algorithms to identify fault dynamics for eVTOLs.

Support in the development of adaptive control strategies to adjust to changes in aircraft dynamics during faults.

Real-time implementation of fault detection and isolation on an eVTOL system.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor\'s degree/Honours in the field of Electrical/ Computer Science/ Mechanical/ Aerospace Engineering with a major emphasis in the domain of Control, Automation, Instrumentation, and/or Robotics.

Experience in designing and implementing real-time fault detection and isolation solutions

Sound knowledge of Nonlinear systems theory, Fault detection and isolation, Observer Design, Machine Learning, and Neural Networks and Estimation theory.

Proficient in using machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow and Keras.

Sound coding skills in C/C++, MATLAB, Python.

Good knowledge of ROS2, Gazebo.

Good English writing and communication skills (required).
