Job Title: Research Fellow (2D Materials Research)

We are looking for a motivated research fellow to join our group dedicated to 2D materials synthesis, device fabrication, and properties investigation. Our work is committed to solve key challenges of 2D materials applications in nanoelectronics, photonics and energy harvesting and conversion. This project will aim to combine substrate surface engineering and synthetic methods to develop new 2D materials growth process, evaluate and improve the quality of growth, and seek potential device applications.
Key Responsibilities:

• Tailor the substrates surface properties for 2D materials growth
• Optimize growth processes to improve the quality of targeted materials
• Characterize targeted materials using multiple microscopy and spectroscopy techniques
• Device fabrication and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with our research teams and industrial partners to reach critical steps for potential commercialization from laboratory scale.
• Make contributions to science and engineering communities via publications, patents, and conferences.
• Present and discuss with local and overseas project team (Applied Materials, USA) on technical progress and future plans
• Resources planning and technical procurement

Qualifications
1. A PhD degree in a relevant area (Materials Science/Chemistry/Electrical Engineering or equivalent) (Candidates who have submitted thesis and will be receiving their PhD degree within 6 months are also welcome to apply)
2. Good publication record
3. Experience in 2D Materials research
4. Good written and verbal communication skills in English
5. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
6. Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and data analysis software
