Job Description
- To provide specialist bioinformatics analyses of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic and cellular phenotypic data to investigate genetic influences on gene expression and vascular cell behaviour in relation to cardiovascular diseases.
- To provide input into the design of experimental studies and the preparation of research grants and scientific papers for publication.
- RNA-Seq data analysis.
- Gene regulatory networks analysis.
- Cardiovascular research.
- Research productivity (e.g. research publications in peer review journals).
- Good honours level first degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. mathematics or biology).
- Higher degree (i.e. PhD) in bioinformatics or in biological sciences with a strong computer programming component - required.
- Experience in standard techniques in bioinformatics.
- Strong programming skills (e.g. in R, Perl or C++).
- Evidence of involvement in innovative research.
- Proven analytic and technical/scientific problem solving capability.
