The Research Fellow will work on a research project related to future transportation network modelling and optimization with autonomous vehicles (AVs) and human-driven vehicles (HVs). The project will mainly focus on the following three research topics: road capacity analysis, travel behaviour modelling, and dedicated AV lane planning and accessibility management. To in-depth understand the implications of introducing heterogeneous AVs into road capacity, the first work package (WP) of this project is to examine the uncertainty in road capacity. The second WP of this project aims to analyse user travel behaviour under mixed AV-HV scenes and formulate equilibrium mode/route choices of AV and HV users. To make effective and safe AV operations in an urban transportation network, the third WP of this project focuses on dedicated AV lane planning and accessibility management with the aid of the route choice models.
