Applications are invited for the following full-time position in the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health:

Global Health Research Fellow

The Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health (SSHSPH) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is recruiting a full-time experienced Research Fellow for the Leadership Institute for Global Health Transformation (LIGHT), which is part of the School\'s initiatives under Global Health.

Job scope:

  • To work with the Director of LIGHT on collaborative and international research and practice projects (planning, writing, liaising with partners, other duties related to setting up and executing LIGHT\'s projects)
  • To assist with preparation and writing of:
  • Policy briefs to aid government and other public health leaders in decision making
  • Manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals
  • White papers
  • Research grants for submission to local and international grant funding bodies (i.e. NMRC, NIH, NIHR, etc.); proposals for other funders
  • Ethics submission documents for research projects, both local and international
  • Interval and final reports for research grants and ethics submissions.
  • To contribute to design of curricula for executive programmes and leadership development programmes
  • To supervise and mentor junior researchers and interns on research, data collection and writing for LIGHT projects
  • To support LIGHT-coordinated national and international advisory support to governments and international agencies
  • To perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
Requirements:
  • PhD in a relevant subject area (e.g. Public Health, Global Health, International Development, Business Administration, etc.), or equivalent
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills in English
  • Strong research skills and experience in global health/health systems/digital health/infectious diseases
  • Experience of supervising students/junior staff and able to lead a team of junior researchers
  • Experience of publishing in peer-reviewed international journals and in securing new funding opportunities
  • Experience of policy writing
  • Highly organized and able to work effectively under pressure, use independent judgement and produce a quality work product within tight time constraints
  • Able to work independently and to design and manage projects
  • Great interpersonal skills and able to work in a team
  • Able to work with and effectively manage multiple stakeholders, locally and internationally
The grade of appointment will be accorded based on candidate\'s academic qualifications and years of relevant experience. Singaporeans/PRs preferred.
