Job Description

The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) drives research development and industry adoption of additive manufacturing technology through collaborative projects with leading industry partners, schools and research centres within and beyond NTU. The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. Key Responsibilities: The Research Fellow will conduct both experimental and numerical research in the development of more efficient air-cooled condensers.

• Performing experimental and numerical investigations to develop air-cooled condensers to optimise their thermal performance in terms of both heat transfer and pressure drop on the air-side and the condensing fluid side
• Developing designs and fabrication of the heat exchangers by additive manufacturing
• Preparing the necessary research reports and technical papers
• Work closely with a junior research staff, graduate and undergraduate students performing research as URECA or final year projects
• Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) and his co-investigators in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students in the research team, and perform all related assignments and studies as directed by the PI from time to time

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Experience in experimental heat transfer
• Expertise in numerical simulation (CFD or other techniques) and analytical formulations
• Knowledge of single-phase and two-phase heat transfer and fluid mechanics with application to heat exchangers
• Experience in additive manufacturing of metallic parts will be an advantage
• E xpertise in utilising Computer-Aided Design tools for the development of the air-cooled condensers and fabrication using additive manufacturing techniques.
• A good publication track record will be an advantage
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
