Research Fellow Position
Institute of Molecular & Cell Biology (IMCB), Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR)
A research fellow position is available immediately for a joint project between Translational Biomedical Proteomics lab at Institute of Molecular & Cell Biology (IMCB) and National Centre For Food Science at Singapore Food Agency (SFA) on characterizing unknown foodborne hazards in novel food using proteomics, metabolomics and food chemistry technologies. Highly motivated candidates with multi-tasking capability, and good communication and interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct research works in the project, identify problem statements, explore and recommend technology-based solutions, and/or determine research strategies.
• Take the key roles of the project (driving the project)
• Develop and validate new methodologies for analysis of various potentially new and emerging foodborne hazards in novel foods
• Work with community partners/stakeholders including government agencies, scientific organizations and industry partners
• Contribute to multiple projects and work with collaborators to achieve project milestones.
• Organise, prepare and maintain proper documentation of research data, scientific interpretations, technology disclosures etc.
• Communicate research results through regular progress meetings, conference presentations, scientific publications and project reports.
• Perform supportive administrative work including procurement, drafting of project agreements and future project proposals.
• Assist lab-housekeeping and training junior lab members
• Carry out other assignments as designated by reporting officer/PIs

Qualifications/Other Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biological Sciences/Biochemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Food Science, or related disciplines
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in mass spectrometry-based proteomics and/or metabolomics with downstream data analytics skills (bioinformatics and statistics)
• Expertise in research on novel foods or alternative proteins preferred.
