The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The Schools primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.
We are looking for a Research Fellow / Assistant, who will join the laboratory of Associate Professor Navin Kumar Verma at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University Singapore (NTU):

• The role focuses on advancing lymphoma translational research using various in vitro and in vivo models by addressing fundamental questions to understand lymphoma biology and develop novel therapeutic strategies.
• The lab, located in the Clinical Sciences Building (CSB) Novena campus, fosters reciprocal interactions among the research team members and students and provides exciting opportunities.
• We actively collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers from various schools at NTU, LKCMedicine, and multiple collaborators outside NTU, including the National Cancer Centre of Singapore (NCCS) and Singapore General Hospital (SGH).

Key Responsibilities:
The appointed Research Fellow / Assistant will lead studies on lymphoma translational research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities. The staff will:

• Perform experiments, document results, and analyze data to better understand specific mutations and signaling pathways involved in lymphoma development and progression.
• Write reports, develop project proposals, and prepare manuscripts for scientific publications.
• Assist in the purchasing of laboratory materials and provide general support to the lab, such as keeping track of all cell lines, plasmids and other reagents and materials, participating in lab health and safety measures, risk assessment etc. and attending regular lab meetings.
• Contribute to the overall development of competitive multi-disciplinary lymphoma translational research.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in biological/biomedical sciences
• Proficiency in standard cellular, molecular, imaging, and functional techniques. Experience in small animal handling would be an advantage.
• Significant scientific achievements, in terms of publications in reputed journals, patents, awards etc. from his/her PhD training and previous research.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) with good communication and technical skills, self-motivated and well-organized.
• Willing to participate in routine laboratory management and maintenance, capable of independently working on multiple projects with minimum supervision, collaborate effectively in a highly diverse and interdisciplinary team and able to write manuscripts and research proposal.
