A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR ID Labs) is seeking for a Research Fellow to join us in our mission to be a leading centre of infectious diseases research. A*STAR ID Labs aims to develop a cohesive A*STAR response integrated with National PREPARE programme, to drive and deliver translational infectious diseases research to better health and economic outcomes.

\xc2\xb7 To understand strategies and mechanisms for host and pathogen survival in viral infections to guide the development of targeted and effective control and treatment strategies

\xc2\xb7 Work with patient cohorts and relevant models (both in vitro and in vivo) of infectious disease

\xc2\xb7 Plan, schedule, co-ordinate, and lead multiple industry/research projects

\xc2\xb7 Design and conduct experiments including analyse, interpret, and present scientific results

\xc2\xb7 Conduct presentations to research collaborators and industry partners

\xc2\xb7 Develop new research techniques and approaches

\xc2\xb7 Work independently and with collaborators to develop new research ideas

Job Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 PhD in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field

\xc2\xb7 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or relevant postdoctoral training experience

\xc2\xb7 Experience with cell culture and organoid models, mouse models, animal studies, cell biology, flow cytometry, cellular and molecular techniques, microscopy, handling with BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens will be an asset

\xc2\xb7 Experience with industry project management

\xc2\xb7 Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics

\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to complete research projects

\xc2\xb7 Highly motivated and able to work independently

\xc2\xb7 Team player with good interpersonal skills

\xc2\xb7 Good spoken and written communication skills
