Project Title: Research Fellow in the Science of Learning in Education Centre

Project Introduction: [The Science of Learning Centre was recently launched to oversee the Science of Learning initiative in NIE NTU that aims to provide an institution-wide infrastructure for researchers and teachers to come together and make an impact on the lives of learners in Singapore. It does this by bringing together several research disciplines - including neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, technology and education - and state-of-the-art neuroimaging psychophysiological data capture techniques and modelling techniques.]

Requirements

The centre is currently recruiting a Research Fellow to work in the area of Science of Learning. We are a newly formed Science of Learning research centre focused on understanding We are looking for a highly motivated Research Fellow with an interest in health psychology/health science/exercise science.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Principal Investigators in the writing and revision of grant writing and carrying out the design and execution of SoLE research projects
  • Assist in collaborating with internal and external parties
  • Provide leadership and expertise in conducting complex research activities, including but not limited to planning, organizing, conducting, and communicating research studies within the overall scope of a research project at SoLE Centre.
  • Project management and to collect neurophysiological data from EEG/fNIRS/MRI techniques.
  • Develop and utilize computational tools, including but not limited to, those written in R/Python/Java.
  • Write and review research papers, present research outcomes and develop connections with local and international researchers for collaboration work.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Skills and qualifications:
  • PhD in a related neuroscience area, in particular Developmental Psychology, Health Psychology or Exercise and Sport Science.
  • Experience in programming languages (e.g. Matlab/R/Python/Java or similar languages)
  • Demonstrated in-depth research knowledge, skills and expertise, with capability of leadership and achieving research excellence
  • Evidence of high impact publication results desirable
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a diverse workforce
