The team study how better to: identify older people vulnerable [physically, cognitively JOB DESCRIPTION The Frailty Identification, Prevention and Care Management Research Program is a flagship of Geriatric Education and Research Institute (GERI). The team study how better to: identify older people vulnerable [physically, cognitively and/or socially frail] to adverse health outcomes and functional disability introduce strategies to prevent and delay these adverse outcomes and also to provide quality and person-centered care for people with functional impairment e.g. dementia. We have members trained and experienced in medicine, geriatrics, gerontology, public health, psychology, life science, exericse science, nursing, sociology etc on our dynamic team. The job responsibility includes: To independently undertake advanced research in the identification, prevention and management of physical and cognitive frailty, using or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques To produce high quality research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body and/or for journal publication Perform grant applications for relevant research, such as better care models for older people with cognitive impairment and frailty To lead activities designed to develop collaborative research with external partners, colleagues and/or support staff To actively develop external contacts and networks relevant for future collaborations and funding opportunities To supervise and guide junior researchers, interns or students To lead relevant meetings To ensure that responsibilities identified within internal processes as research ethics procedures and health & safety guidelines etc are met by all research team members To take responsibility for resolving problems affecting the delivery of research projects and planning future research projects that may result from current project To contribute to teaching activities as appropriate JOB REQUIREMENTS Candidates to have at least 3 years of experience in application research involving human cognitive performance, preferably in a clinical setting. Possess advanced degree(s), preferably a PhD and some relevant post-doctoral experience. Qualification in a clinical discipline with additional research training and experience will be an advantage.
