SICS- Research Officer (Human Development domain)

Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS) is currently looking for an ambitious Research Officer to work on a multi-disciplinary mixed-methods project investigating nature-based solutions to cultivate positive mental health and wellbeing. We are looking for a candidate with quantitative research skills, who will be working closely with a multi-disciplinary team to support the development of nature-based interventions to improve wellbeing.

Job responsibilities:
The candidate will help with the development and validation of a novel questionnaire that will be subsequently used for benchmarking and tracking of the intervention progress. The candidate will also support the development, delivery and evaluation of online surveys to measure the potential barriers and facilitators of nature-based interventions for pregnant women and other populations.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of materials, data collection and analysis, and will:

  • Assist with the development, piloting, and validation of a novel questionnaire
  • Contribute to planning and design of online surveys and will lead online data collection
  • Lead recruitment of participants
  • Support quantitative data analysis
  • Support data collection from focus groups (no prior experience necessary, training will be provided)
  • Contribute to discussions and wider project planning
  • Contribute towards research protocol development
  • Support literature reviews
  • Contribute to the development of scientific papers and the dissemination of the study findings
Requirements

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Behavioural Science, Social Sciences, Biomedical Sciences)
  • Proven experience in quantitative research methods
  • Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g. Stata, SPSS, or R)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with enthusiastic demeanour
  • Highly motivated, problem-solver with creative mindset
  • A team player with an ability to work independently
  • Willing to work on evenings and/or weekends to accommodate data collection
  • Urban health in an emerging discipline and we require a fast learner
  • Experience in mental health research or landscape architecture research is advantageous
  • Experience with planning or delivering behavioural interventions is advantageous
  • Experience with manuscript writing is advantageous
