- Conducting research on data mining and machine learning for preference analytics
- Designing, building and maintaining research systems and data infrastructure
- Publishing research results in reputable venues
- Pursuing collaborations with potential industry partners to create real-world impact
- Project management and administration
- PhD degree from an university in Computer Science or another relevant discipline
- Strong research capability as evidenced by good publication and citation records
- Knowledge of data mining and machine learning research literature. Topics considered particularly relevant include probabilistic graphical modelling, deep learning, topic modelling, recommender systems, dimensionality reduction, natural language processing, similarity search, text mining and information extraction
- Competency in major programming languages such as Java, C, Python
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently
- Ability to work under strict deadlines
