The Resident Technical Officer (RTO) reports to the Engineering Service Division Mechanical and Air-conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation section and he is responsible for the supervision of upgrading and modernization projects undertaken by ODFM, and to support the growth of NTU to create excellent facilities with green university environment, conducive for lifelong learning as well as creativity and entrepreneurship.
Responsibilities
Assist the Project Managers and Consultants to attend to M&E technical and design issues at site and report issues to Project Managers.
Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Project Managers and/or Consultant team.
Check through construction drawings and highlight any discrepancies found between or within the same disciplines prior to the commencement of M&E installation works.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance to approve drawings and specifications.
Ensure adequate safety precautions and requirements are enforced on site.
Resolve all site issues, monitor site works/progress, and ensure timely completion of the project.
Attend site meetings, site inspections, testing and commissioning.
Check through contractors' submissions namely, materials, MOS, RA, PR, OMM, As-Built Drawings, etc.
Maintain site records.
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution.
Minimum 5 years' working experience as a Resident Technical Officer.
