Team Summary:
Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is Visa's consulting division, serving Visa's clients (including card issuers, acquirers and merchants) and solving their strategic problems focused on improving performance and profitability. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, payments, data analytics, marketing, operational and macroeconomics, VCA drives high impact and tangible financial results. In Asia Pacific (AP), VCA has geographically focused teams and the Center of Excellence (COE) team, which provides expertise in specific industry or functional verticals (Digital, Risk, Business Solutions, Acquiring and Merchant). What the Manager Risk Consulting, Visa Consulting and Analytics does at Visa: The VCA COE Risk team is responsible for delivering Risk advisory services to Visa’s clients across Credit and Fraud Risk. The Manager Risk Consulting will report into the VCA COE Risk Practice and will contribute to the delivery of Credit Risk and Fraud advisory engagements. The team closely collaborates with business stakeholders to understand the business problem in order to determine the most appropriate consulting and analytic approach that provides meaningful results to clients. Responsibilities include hands-on delivery of projects on time and within scope with an in-depth knowledge of big data, data mining and modelling techniques. The person must be results oriented, highly organized and must be focused on delivering innovative analytics and consulting work. We are looking for a motivated, analytically minded individual with a track record of using Risk expertise to unlock business value. Key responsibilities for the Manager Risk Consulting:

  • Contribute to the delivery of Credit Risk and Fraud advisory engagements across Asia Pacific
  • Collaborating with the client’s team (both internal and external) to understand the business problem and desired business outcome
  • Defining detailed scope and methodology, creating and executing on the framework
  • End-to-end delivery of multiple projects within timelines, scope and budget requirements
  • Ensuring all project documentation is up to date and maintain the highest levels of quality in deliverables
  • Develop Credit and Fraud Risk data driven solutions (Credit Scoring for Consumer, SME and Merchant underwriting, Alternate Data Scoring, Authorization and Fraud Optimization, Fraud Risk Prediction/Scoring).
  • Support the development and maintenance of consistency, standards and quality control of Risk consulting methodologies, ensuring world-class best practices and efficiency through economies of scale
  • Support the development and maintenance of Intellectual Property (IP) risk repository for VCA by capitalizing on learnings from consulting engagements (e.g. build standard methods and frameworks, create library of case studies, templatize modeling approach and codes)
  • Work as independent contributor mostly and as a mentor to other team members by providing guidance when required

Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Technical:
  • Candidate with 5+ years of analytical experience in applying statistical solutions to business problems
  • Post Graduate degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Hands on experience with one or more data analytics/programming tools such as SAS/Salford SPM/Hadoop/R/SQL/Python/Hive
  • Proficiency in some of the following statistical techniques: Linear and Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, Support Vector Machines, Neural Networks, Clustering, Principal Component Analysis, Factor analysis etc
  • Experience in banking / consumer lending industry preferred
  • Experience in credit risk analytics (model development, strategy and framework, scorecard development, documentation, validation, governance, implementation and automation etc.)
  • Understanding of credit bureaus and non-traditional data providers will be a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problems

  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn
