For more than 350 years and across the world we have passionately pursued our curiosity to find novel and vibrant ways of enhancing the lives of others.Your RoleAs EHS Engineer you will be part of the Facilities & Logistics team of a growing BSL-2 GMP Facility (~4,000 m2) which offers Contract Testing Services for biopharmaceutical companies across the APAC region. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory and corporate EHS requirements, and you will promote a safety, health and sustainability culture across all employees. You will also coordinate equipment maintenance and lead investigations and CAPA's to maintain high-quality standards and ensure the safety of life-changing medicines tested at our Singapore site. This role will require close collaboration internally with Lab Operations, Quality, PMO, Regulatory and Corporate EHS.What You DoThe position holder is accountable for performing the following functions independently, with minimal guidance: EHS Manage site EHS program to ensure compliance and maintain a safety and healthy work environment. The EHS program encompasses all aspects of providing a safe workplace for its employees including WSH compliance, Fire Prevention, Emergency preparedness, hazardous material control, Biohazard safety and Hazard communication. Responsible for chemical safety and biosafety of the BSL-2 lab facility, waste disposal, safety equipment and procedures for managing hazardous substances and pathogens in accordance with regulations and corporate standards. Ensure site personnel are competent in performing Risk Assessments and ensuring needed Risk Assessments are completed. Responsible for applications, on-site inspections and on-time license renewal by government agencies (NEA, SPF, SCDF, AVS,..). Lead CTS-Singapore Safety Committee to promote and achieve a safe workplace. Deliver EHS orientation and training to lab employees, visitors and contractors and completes contractor work permit review before the start of work. Monitor and report site EHS performance indicators, recommend actions and implement CAPA's. Facilitate site's emergency response and conduct periodic drills. Perform periodic inspection and ensure site personnel are competent in performing safety inspections. Reviews safety for new materials introduced to the site and defines appropriate safety measures. Ensure site is prepared for and ready to respond in the event of emergency. Define and review site safety procedures against regulatory and corporate standards. Manages site security with controlled access of lab areas. Monitors and reports global safety indices Plan local implementation sustainability strategy and promote sustainability initiatives across the site.Engineering Coordinate instrument maintenance with vendor and ensure documentation as per GMP/GLP/GDP requirement Monitor equipment maintenance and calibration contracts and work with Procurement for quotations Contribute to validation works including coordination with vendor new equipment installation, commissioning, retirement Lead investigations, write events, address audit findings and own CAPAs and Change Controls at site level. Lead projects impacting site level and support projects and events with global scope.Who You Are Degree/Diploma in Engineering or Science related discipline 1-3 year of working experience in Laboratory, R&D and/or manufacturing environment Experience of safety management of hazardous agents and practical knowledge of statutory/regulatory requirements on safety 1-2 years working in a regulated environment (GMP) with experience in leading investigations, change controls and regulatory audits preferred Understanding of operation of BSL-2 Lab environment is preferred Good oral and written communication skills. Strong project management skills: planning, organizing, attention to detail, managing competing priorities Good team player embracing multi-cultural, multi-lingual and multi-time zone work environment.
