We are looking for a dedicated individual to perform the role of Safety Manager in our Safety, Security & QA (SSQA) Department. As a Safety Manager, you will be accountable for implementing and monitoring the airline’s Quality Assurance Program and IOSA Compliance Program, while actively supporting safety management, risk management and accident prevention programs to ensure compliance with ANR and company standards. Reporting to the Manager, Safety, your main accountabilities will include

  • Implement and manage the company Quality Assurance programmes on operations and safety matters;
  • Conduct audits and be a subject matter expert in the conduct of audit;
  • Responsible for the training, qualification and standards of the auditors;
  • Manage and maintain the Safety Database Management System (SDMS)
  • Establish and maintain a Risk-based Surveillance Program to ensure optimal utilization of QA resources;
  • Ensure that the Line Station Inspection (LSI) audits by CAAS Inspector are well supported and coordinated;
  • Responsible for the implementation of IOSA program, or its equivalent, in JSA, ensuring internal IOSA internal audits as well as the re-validation audit by designated Audit Organization (AO) of all operational disciplines are carried out according to schedule;
  • Responsible for the IOSA audit contract, making sure that it is put through Group or Company review process well in time prior to the audit;
  • Act as SSQA’s Subject Matter Expert in Crisis Management, take charge of JSA’s Group Crisis Management Plan (GCMP) Manual and maintain full complement of Station Emergency Response Plan (SERP) with assistance from Ground Ops Department;
  • Develop and maintain SSQA Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and provide guidance and assistance to other departments in developing their respective BCP
  • To assist in the conduct of Crisis Exercise in consultation with Operations Departments;
  • Be conversant with facilitation of Risk Assessments;
  • Be able to lead an investigation;
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a safety awareness programme especially for the service providers; Maintain the safety occurrence reporting database, in particular, ground operations;
  • Prepare monthly summary slides for Quality Assurance Program, Crisis Management for presentation during meetings.
  • Monitor corrective actions and safety trends;
  • Back up Secretary duties for the Management Safety Security Committee (MSSC), arranging its meetings and keeping records of such meetings.
  • Assist in the compilation of Safety Newsletters and contribute articles;
  • Conduct and coordinate training on safety topics as required;
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills & experience:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience preferably working in the aviation industry
  • At least a Bachelor Degree in Aviation, Engineering or equivalent qualifications
  • Possess an ICAO or recognised equivalent qualification in Safety Management System.
  • Possess Internationally recognised audit qualification e.g. IRCA certifications or ISO9001 auditor’s qualification.
  • Exceptional communication skills, ability to play a strong support role in integrating Jetstar and Group stakeholders
  • Experience and comfortable working within a dynamic and fast paced team environment
  • Must be able to think clearly, creatively and work independently under pressure, whilst being an effective team member
  • Commitment to delivery of Company’s safety and service standards
  • Strong knowledge in using Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Flexible approach to work and responsibilities
  • Proven project management experience including strong discipline of prioritising and time management skills
  • Must be able to travel
