SAP SD Consultant

Key responsibilities include gathering requirements, designing solutions, configuring


the SAP system (especially sales, delivery, and billing), integrating with other


modules, testing, troubleshooting, user training, and creating


documentation. Essential skills include strong knowledge of SAP SD functionalities,


excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and experience with SAP


implementations and integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Requirement Analysis:
Facilitate workshops to gather and analyse business requirements for sales processes.


Solution Design:
Design, customize, and configure the SAP SD module to align with client business processes and objectives.


System Configuration:
Set up and manage SAP SD functionalities, including order processing, pricing, shipping, billing, and partner determination.


Integration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate the SAP SD module with other SAP modules (like MM, FI) and external systems (like EDI).





Testing:
Develop and execute test plans, scripts, and conduct unit, integration, and user


acceptance testing (UAT).


Troubleshooting & Support:
Investigate, analyse, and resolve software problems, providing post-implementation


support to end-users.


Documentation:
Create and maintain functional specifications, configuration documents, test cases,


and training materials for end-users and stakeholders.


User Training:
Provide training and support to business users on how to use the SAP SD system


effectively.


Process Optimization:
Proactively identify and propose business process improvements and system


enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:
Typically, a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a


related field.


Experience:
Proven experience as an SAP SD Consultant, often with 5-7+ years of hands-on


experience.


Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of the SAP SD module, including order management, pricing, billing, and shipping.


Integration Knowledge:
Experience with integration points between SAP SD and other modules (e.g., MM, FI).


Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex system issues.


Communication:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with


business users, technical teams, and clients.


Project Management:
Ability to manage projects, adhere to timelines, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.


Certification:
SAP SD certification is often a plus, with S/4HANA knowledge being increasingly preferred.
