Prepare all laboratory equipment, materials and set-ups required for P3 to P6 Science experiments, according to Science laboratory worksheets or resources provided by the Science department;
Keep track of required lab lessons to ensure that they are carried out by the respective P3 to P6 Science classes; \xe2\x80\xa2 Suggest alternatives or alterations to laboratory set-ups to improve learning;
Maintain and perform regular stock-takes of items in the Science laboratory inventory and for the care of learning spaces, and work with the Science department to arrange for timely replacement or procurement of items;
Ensure neatness and cleanliness of the labs at all times;
Support Science teachers in facilitating laboratory lessons to ensure a safe and effective learning environment;
Maintenance and care for the following learning spaces: Eco-ponds & Habitat tanks \xe2\x80\x93 Mangrove, Marine, Stick Insect tanks
Stock-taking of learning materials issued to teachers at start and end of the school year;
Morning duties as assigned to ensure safety of students;
Any other ad-hoc duties as requested.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
At least three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as Science laboratory assistant or technician in a primary / secondary school environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in English
Good team player with high level of initiative
Ability to prepare all resources required for experiments
Has GCE \xe2\x80\x98O\xe2\x80\x99 level qualifications
Competent use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
Working Schedule:
Mondays to Thursdays: 7.00am to 2:00pm, inclusive of \xc2\xbd hr lunch break
Fridays: 7:00am to 3:30pm, inclusive of \xc2\xbd hr lunch break
Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Contract Period: From 01 January 2024 to 31 December 2024
Option to Extend: 01 January 2025 to 31 December 2025
