:
We are looking for a highly self-motivated Ph.D. level scientist to join our team in measurement science in mechanical related quantities, including mass, force, pressure, flow, gravity etc. The ideal candidate also possesses background in physics or quantum physics, and mechanical engineering.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Work closely with the research team, senior management and external partners who are jointly undertaking research projects with the organisation.
Perform comprehensive literature review of relevant topics. Work out project and experimental plan for Grant Project and industrial project as well.
Analysis and develop measurement solution and modelling such as for energy efficiency model with the measurement parameters such as temperature, flow rate, pressure etc. for energy transfer system.
Develop metrological primary standards for mechanical measurement traceability, such as pressure, flow, gravity etc with quantum and/or optical approach.
Identify the industrial needs and gaps, and propose research projects. Communicate both internally and externally for joint research proposals.
Supervise and mentor students, junior staff and research associates.
Perform other related duties, like industrial projects and service, consultation etc, as required.
Job requirement and experience:
Bachelor, Master's or PhD degree in mechanical engineering or physics
A desired 2 years' post-doctoral research experience in academia and/or industry, preferably in precision measurement activities.
Expertise in hands-on experience in mechanical testing, and skills in modelling and simulation as well.
Independence in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
