The MicroElectroMultiphysical Systems (MEMS) team at Institute of Microelectronics (IME), Singapore is looking for a MEMS research scientist for terahertz (THz), RF and acoustic wave control. The scientist will work with a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of MEMS devices based THZ/RF/Acoustic technologies for next generation communication devices.

- Designing THz/RF/acoustic MEMS actuators
- Design integration with metasurfaces for dynamic wave control
- Developing comprehensive electromechanical models
- Designing fabrication processes and working with the process integration team to ensure successful fabrication of devices
- Specifying integrated circuit and packaging requirements for THz devices and communicating the requirements to the respective teams
- Building test setups and PCB circuits for characterizing THz, RF, acoustic MEMS devices
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Applied Physics or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in MEMS (PhD work can be counted)
- Good intuition and a deep understanding of fundamental electromechanical principles. Experience in metasurface technologies preferred.
- Knowledge of typical MEMS fabrication processes, with extensive experience in microfabrication.
- Experience with finite element software such as COMSOL, Coventorware, or Ansys.
- Experience with layout drawing software, such as Cadence, L-edit preferred.
- Experience with ASIC design preferred
- Python programming skills for data analysis and instrument control preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as being an excellent team player
