Job Description

We are looking for two highly motivated scientists to join our multi-disciplinary team to develop sustainable urban solutions in the present context of climate change. The new hires will embark on cutting edge research closely with collaborators from our partnering institute of higher learning and research institute on sustainable materials development for catalysis and energy. The job scope and expectation include, but not limited to, the following:

• Materials synthesis and characterization
• Perform screening studies to evaluate targeted materials performance for as-prepared candidates, to benchmark against existing known heterogenous catalysts or materials.
• Draft and prepare scientific publications, reports, intellectual property submissions, presentation content, etc., to publish, present, and communicate research findings
• Actively engage and communicate with team members and collaborators on research progress and outcomes
• Contribute actively to laboratory safety, house-keeping and other operational tasks, and duties (e.g., purchase and procurement, equipment maintenance, etc.)
• Mentor/co-supervise students and interns
• Other ad-hoc supportive roles and duties for the research group, department, and division

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in materials science and engineering (MSE) or any relevant disciplines.
• A team player, and possess good communication skills (oratorical and writing)
• Meticulous, organized, resourceful, analytical, and highly self-driven.
• Ability to work independently
