In addition, we operate two modern yards in Haugesund and in Thailand, with complete prefabrication and construction capabilities.Job responsibilities:1. DISCIPLINE MANAGEMENT

  • Report to Engineering Manager and participate in Engineering Management meetings
  • Execute and co-ordinate all activities under the job holder\'s responsibility
  • QHSE: Ensure compliance to QHSE requirements (maintain a positive and safe work environment), and support improvements in QHSE
  • Compliance: Understand and comply with internal control procedures, and support improvements in discipline work processes and procedures
  • Code-of-Conduct: Comply without fail with Company code of conduct and ensure ethical behaviour at all times. Unethical behaviour shall not be tolerated
  • Quality: Ensure that the quality of the work performed meets or exceeds client specifications and promotes Company\'s technical standing towards securing more work
  • Improvement & Development: Drive continuous self-learning to increase technical competence, and experience transfer including input to lessons learnt activities, training of junior engineers and peers, improvements in cost and schedule on projects
  • Support bid activity for prospects (manhour estimation, scope preparation, inputs to bid documents, etc.)
  • Operate with High Competency Levels e.g., communicate effectively at all levels, teamwork, analytical and critical thinking, resourcefulness.
2.RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  • Deliver required resources and services to projects and tenders
  • Provide input to performance appraisals for employees under job holder\'s supervision
  • Supervise and lead less experienced engineers; identify and develop talent within the discipline, preparing them for greater responsibilities
  • Define and maintain s for the discipline (all staff categories)
  • Conduct recruitment of new staff, including:
  • Defining roles/positions to be filled (via ERF)
  • Review and shortlist of potential candidates
  • Conduct interviews and shortlist for hiring (via IAF)
  • Induct new staff into the discipline
  • Perform knowledge management activities, including:
  • Organizing and Maintaining Discipline Folder/Repositories/Libraries
  • Gather and curate project experience
  • Facilitate knowledge flow within the discipline (seniors teaching, juniors asking)
  • Encourage strong analytical or critical thinking
  • Conduct/facilitate training in areas of competence (technical) and competency (behavioural)
  • Set performance goals, conduct performance appraisal, provide feedback, coach and support staff development
  • Administrative: approvals of timesheets, claims, leave applications, etc.

  • Package Engineer on Projects
  • Discipline Team Lead (Mechanical) on Projects

Work experience requirements:
  • >20years experience in Rotating Equipment/Packages in the oil, gas, or petrochemical (OGP) industry, with the bulk of that experience in the Offshore OGP sector.
  • Has Mechanical Package Engineering experience as described in one of the following s
  • Lead Rotating Engineer
  • Lead Static Equipment Engineer
  • Lead Mechanical Package Engineer
  • Understands functional requirements of other disciplines/departments, and able to promote multi-disciplinary collaboration.
  • Experience in one or more of the following would be an advantage:
  • Has performed Resource Management function in previous positions
  • Articulate and implement human-resource, project management and/or knowledge management concepts on the ground to realize benefits and improvements
  • Has broad network in industry
  • Highly conversant with oil & gas industry standards such as API, ISO, NORSOK, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent
Other skills:
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills; demonstrate effective application of existing ideas/concepts, mental models, systems, and processes, and ability to integrate them to create new ones.
In addition, the Job Holder will have the following job specific requirements:
  • Strong leadership skills, good communicator, dependable and resourceful
  • High competency levels for collaborative work, in a manner that increases the efforts of others, in a multi-cultural environment
  • Has strong emotional quotient
