About the Role

The Security Consultant is responsible for leading a team of system and security engineers in providing innovative security solutions and technical support to customers by analysing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing network and security infrastructure/architecture as part of project delivery team to ensure performance meets the satisfaction of the Company and users. The incumbent also provides direction, information and recommendations on security configurations and installations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with project teams to undertake the installation and configuration of network and security systems
• Plan and monitor team activities and resource allocation for optimal performance
• Troubleshoot network & security infrastructure, including analysing and fine-tuning network design as part of the integration plan
• Undertake the testing of applications, implementation and evaluation of network and security products and solutions
• Manage vendors and ensure that the completed works are satisfactory and meet the requirements
• Involve in Change Management of systems, including executing configuration changes
• Provision of technical recommendations as and when necessary on matters relating to network technologies and administration
• Recommend and coordinate the application of fixes, patches, disaster recovery procedures in the event of a security breach or audit finding
• Ensure network infrastructure complies with security policies
• Update process and procedural documents
• Any other ad-hoc duties as required or assigned

• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Information Technology/Information Systems/Computer Science/ Engineering or equivalent qualifications
• At least 5 years of relevant experience and in-depth knowledge in planning, designing, implementing and troubleshooting of network security systems. Personnel with higher experience will be considered a senior position.
• Good understanding of a services business in a high-tech environment from a supplier, integrator or operators perspective
• ICT Security Certification (any of the following is a plus):
• CISSP, CISA, CEH, CSSLP, CHFI, CCSP, GCIH, GIAC
• Network Certification (eg. CCNA) is a plus
• Experience and able to perform hands-on implementation and support for a wide range of network and security technologies such as:

• Firewalls (including L2/L3 firewalls, application firewalls and web application firewalls), e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Checkpoint

• VPN and SSL-VPN, e.g. Cisco, Juniper

• IDS/IPS, e.g. McAfee

• Content and URL Filtering technologies, e.g. Symantec, McAfee

• SIEM, e.g. HP, RSA, IBM, Splunk

• Network Management tools such as HP OpenView, BMC Patrol, SolarWind

• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routers, firewalls, security devices, and network security concepts
• Demonstrate strong leadership and good people management skills with the drive to excel and achieve goals
• Good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills, applied with a solution-focused attitude
• Good written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to write with purpose, clarity, and accuracy
• Understanding of security implementation in Cloud environment (eg AWS, Azure) is a plus.
