We are seeking an experienced actuary (almost qualified, or recently qualified) to play a leading role in our regional Data Team, covering the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific region). Based in Singapore and reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role combines strategic and hands-on responsibilities.You will be working closely with the Business Lead and IT Team to support our regional data warehouse projects, playing an active role in requirements gathering and user acceptance testing. You will also be working closely with a team of junior actuarial data analysts to set up the company's systems to process and consume bordereaux data provided by clients and provide extracts, reports and business insights to down-stream users.Your Role:Assess data quality in the region and for the robust processing of dataProvide actuarial and business input to the IT Team during requirement-gathering exercisesUse actuarial and systems knowledge to assess proposed IT solutionsPlan, support and actively manage the User Acceptance Testing of system changesSet up the regional systems to consume the data provided by selected cedentsSupport other members of the Data Team in expanding their actuarial and insurance knowledgeLiaise with local offices throughout the region, as and when necessarySupport the change management function in relation to data systems and processesWork with other members of the Data Team to analyse available data and to develop dashboards and reports, communicating relevant insights to senior managementYour Profile:Nearly-qualified / recently-qualified actuary with 5 to 10 years of experience in life reinsuranceThorough understanding of life insurance principles and products in the regionProven knowledge and hands-on experience in managing and contributing to IT projects,Possess technical computing skills such as SQL and Data ServicesGood analytical abilities and proficient in resolving challengesFluent in English (both verbal and written business level) * Familiarity with Munich Re's processes and systems would be a distinct advantageOur Benefits:Flexible and Hybrid working arrangementsGenerous annual leave allowanceCompetitive dental, life and health insurance coverageAt Munich Re, we embrace, and value, the interaction of diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and thought.
