As a Senior Architecture Engineer, you'll join a high-impact government technology program supporting secure, large-scale infrastructure across hybrid cloud, on-premises, and network environments.


You'll design, implement, and maintain mission-critical architecture compliant with government IM8 and CIS standards, while driving operational excellence, system hardening, and performance optimisation.


This is a 12-month renewable contract role based onsite.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Architect and implement secure infrastructure across networking, compute, storage, and virtualization environments Manage VMware platforms (vSphere, NSX, vCenter) and Dell EMC storage systems (PowerMAX, Unity, Isilon) Configure and harden Windows, Linux, and Oracle Solaris OS to meet IM8/CIS security benchmarks Administer Oracle and MS SQL databases, ensuring secure configurations, backup, and tuning Maintain IM8 and CIS compliance through documentation, audit readiness, and configuration control Lead troubleshooting across network, OS, and database domains and guide incident resolution under ITIL v4 Mentor junior engineers on system hardening, operations, and compliance best practices

WHAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU

8-12 years' experience in enterprise or government IT infrastructure roles Strong expertise in VMware virtualization and Dell EMC storage systems Proficient in Oracle Solaris, Windows Server, and Linux administration Hands-on experience with Oracle DB (19c+), MS SQL, and NoSQL databases Familiarity with Cisco or Checkpoint firewalls and IM8/CIS-compliant configurations Ability to document, design, and review secure architecture diagrams and processes Experience working in secure or regulated environments with incident management exposure

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUT

Certifications such as Solaris Administrator, VMware VCP-DCV, or CCNP Knowledge of security compliance (CISSP, Security+, IM8 Auditor) Automation scripting skills (KornShell, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible) Experience in public sector or government infrastructure programs * Strong leadership, communication, and documentation discipline
