What the role is:The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore\'s communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. The One Health Office\'s role is to drive and improve One Health coordination and collaboration at the national level with key stakeholders. As Senior/ Assistant Director for One Health Office of the interim Communicable Diseases Agency (iCDA) under the Ministry of Health (MOH), you will work with the Head and Deputy Director/ One Health Office to establish and build Singapore\'s One Health capabilities. If you are passionate about One Health, collaboration across sectors to achieve common objectives, and starting initiatives from ground-up, this may be the position for you. You will be working in a dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.What you will be working on:

• Implement, and review the overall framework for One Health plans of actions for communicable diseases to safeguard public health and reduce incidence and impact of endemic and emerging diseases in Singapore. \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement national One Health research and surveillance programmes of endemic and emerging communicable diseases of One Health priority, which will inform prevention and control policies and strategies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Implement capability development efforts in One Health workforce core competencies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide desktop research and technical advice on specified One Health related issues and matters,. \xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with One Health partners to spearhead the implementation and monitoring of progress. \xe2\x80\xa2 Stay abreast of trends, best practices, and directions relating to One Health

What we are looking for:

• Degree in medicine, veterinary medicine, environmental health, public health, epidemiology. Relevant postgraduate qualifications (MSc, PhD) or certifications in public health or One Health related disciplines are advantageous. \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 5 years of relevant experience in managing public health or One Health related programmes and initiatives. \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess managerial and organizational skills to manage collaborative activities with a team of public health and One Health professionals effectively. \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess basic public or One Health expertise and knowledge to interact effectively with local and international experts and assess scientific evidence. \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess strong analytical capabilities and capacity to think about issues comprehensively and systematically, to overcome barriers and achieve One Health actionable strategies. \xe2\x80\xa2 Possess strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills to drive effective collaborations with stakeholders within and outside of the agency. Key Competencies Require \xe2\x80\xa2 Thinking Clearly & Making Sound Judgements - Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to support the crafting of sound policy recommendations; ability to grasp timelines, operating context and ground realities. \xe2\x80\xa2 Learning & Putting Skills into Action - Multidisciplinary multi-sectoral application of existing and new technologies. Experience and qualification in systems and operational execution is desirable. Public health or systems engineering expertise are advantageous, with the ability to pick up on areas outside own\'s specialty \xe2\x80\xa2 Improving & Innovating - Ability to seek continual improvements, and to innovate and experiment while managing the risks involved. \xe2\x80\xa2 Working Effectively with Stakeholders - Ability to mobilise and rally partners and stakeholders towards a collective purpose. Critical to relate to stakeholders, negotiate and understand ground realities. Able to communicate to administrative heads. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
