What the role is:The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore\'s communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. The CDA PO\'s role is to plan and execute the setup of the CDA, which will consolidate and build on the public health functions under MOH, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, and the Health Promotion Board. As the Senior Assistant Director / Assistant Director with the Food & Vector Borne Diseases Division, you will be protecting the health of Singaporeans by reducing the burden of communicable diseases through evidence-based policy formulation, the implementation of effective disease prevention and control programmes, including epidemiological surveillance programmes and timely outbreak response and management. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that will require you to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities concurrently.What you will be working on:

• Formulation, implementation, monitoring and review of the prevention and control strategies for food and vector borne diseases \xe2\x80\xa2 Epidemiological investigation and outbreak management for food and vector borne diseases \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop and implement disease surveillance programmes for food and vector borne diseases \xe2\x80\xa2 Provide technical subject matter expertise for food and vector borne diseases \xe2\x80\xa2 Programme management and administration \xe2\x80\xa2 Human Resource Management

What we are looking for:

• Minimum tertiary qualifications from recognised disciplines, preferably in a life sciences, medical or nursing background \xe2\x80\xa2 Postgraduate degree in Public Health or Epidemiology or equivalent \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum of 5 years work experience in public health \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical skillsets, including grasp of data analysis techniques \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work under pressure and simultaneously on different projects \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent organisational skills and resourcefulness \xe2\x80\xa2 Good inter-personal and communication skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across disciplines \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to work beyond office hours, especially during outbreaks \xe2\x80\xa2 Willing to continuously keep up-to-date on new developments in the communicable diseases field \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven leadership skills and the ability to inspire others As part of the shortlisting process for this role, candidates may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
