Senior Backend Developer (Ruby)

Role Overview

• Create new features and improvements
• Review of new requirements and estimation
• Peer code review and codebase management
• 3rd party integrations and data from different back-end services and databases
• Database design, management and debugging
• Collaborate with front-end developers and web designers
• Build and release process management
• Deploy new releases to staging and production
• Set up and management of environments, CI/CD pipeline for releases, code repository
• Develop and investigate secure back-end functionality
• Conduct unit, functionality testing and debug code (UAT and QA)
• Ownership of technical support tickets
• BAU code maintenance and bug fixing
• Complete user story acceptance testing criteria.
• Create test documentation and ensure software documentation is up to date
• Assist to deliver product roadmap milestones
• Be up to date with emerging technologies, trends and apply them to operations and activities

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience with Ruby on rails
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
• Experience with MySQL, SQL and Dabatase Management
• Experience with the design and implementation of APIs
• Experience with Infrastructure - Firebase and Digital Ocean (Staging and Production)
• Experience in accounting platform development ideal
• Experience with Code changes, Dev Ops, Dev Testing
• Understanding of security practices
• Understanding of code versioning and deployment
• Familiarity with network diagnostics tools
• BSc/MSc in Computer Science or relevant field
• Excellent communication skills
