About this role
The Security Engineer (BIM / Security Technology) is to provide specialist electronic security modelling and technician (BIM/CAD) services for the design of integrated electronic security systems such as video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection etc., employing worlds best-practice solutions in bringing commercially focused security solutions to our clients business activities. Required to understand the design process and requirements for the design of an integrated electronic security systems (with components such as video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection).

What will I do?

• Understand security concepts, assist other security specialists to turn the concepts into design, project deliverable and contractual requirements, assist project BIM leads to develop/manage project BIM execution plans and champion best practices in BIM project and delivery processes
• Manage and contribute to centrally managed models or drawing sets, and coordinate systems and associated networks with other design team members in accordance with the clients requirements and local best practice when applicable.
• Assist other security specialists with BIM/CAD-related activities, such as information security and dissemination, and project BIM leads to manage incoming and outgoing project models and drawing information and maintain an accurate copy of all deliverable content.
• Identify new opportunities to improve quality and project delivery; develop automation routines to support productivity.
• Work collaboratively with the Resilience, Security & Risk team leader, other members of the team, and other Arup teams globally in the delivery of successful projects/assignments.

What will I bring?

• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, architecture and computer science with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience in building/construction industry, preferably within a security consulting business environment or a security systems integrator
• Expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) authoring platforms - e.g. Autodesk Revit, BIM360 and Navisworks;
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) authoring platforms - e.g. Autodesk AutoCAD and MicroStation;
• Familiarity with programming or visual scripting such as Python, Grasshopper, Dynamo;
• Strong interest in latest security technologies (electronics and physical security) and have the ability to think strategically and formulate innovative plans and solutions
