Senior Broker, Agriculture

What the day will look like

• Work together in the broking team in the analysis of existing and new portfolios, leading some of the placements to the reinsurance markets
• Conduct research in order to facilitate preparation of reports and presentations for the reinsurance market
• Conduct market research to understand Agriculture insurance and reinsurance landscape in the region and work with fellow brokers to come up with a business plan
• Preparation of renewal information packs
• Broking to local and international underwriters and understanding their risks appetite
• Ensure clients are kept up to date with relevant legislatives, technical and market developments
• Keep abreast of industry and professional development to ensure best practices are provided
• Comply with agreed Quality Assurance standards, processes and practices to minimise errors and omission exposures

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Preferably a degree in Business Management, Engineering or Statistics
• Minimum 3 years of work experience, preferably in reinsurance underwriting or reinsurance broking
• Relevant Treaty Reinsurance experience in Agriculture and familiarity with the Asia agriculture insurance and reinsurance market
• Possess excellent oral, written, interpersonal, presentation and marketing skills
• Attention to detail, pro-active and results orientated
• Possess strong negotiation skills and ability to develop and maintain business relationships
• Possess good analytical mind with strong business acumen
• Willing to work hard to deliver results, be highly reliable, adaptable to changes and a good team player
