We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Senior Business Manager.

Principal Responsibilities

The role will report to respective WCOO Lead for S&SEA, and oversee different activities including delivery of strategic initiatives, financial and workforce management, and support to the WCOO teams in countries. The role holder will play a key part in our engagement with the lines of business (CMB & GB) and will be supporting activities such as service performance and streamlining, people initiatives, project management and delivery of strategic initiatives.

The role holder will be responsible for a range of WCOO activities across the following areas:

  • Providing local support for the implementation of the WCOO strategy \xe2\x80\x93 this is a broad agenda but will typically include workforce planning, financial management & reporting, supporting the restatement of key Finance reporting systems and contributing to a dynamic WCOO Finance global team agenda. Providing framework for robust financial planning, management, tracking and reporting on Wholesale COO Direct costs including monthly forecast submissions and the FRP
  • Managing and escalating risks to delivery plans for timely attention of senior management
  • Preparation for and follow up from several executive and management committees covering WCOO, CMB and GB
  • Overseeing the development of the multiple cross region programmes and ensuring that workstreams and countries are carrying out their tasks efficiently and hitting their financial milestones
  • Preparing management presentations or leading presentations to the WCOO, CMB and GB teams
Requirements

Knowledge:
  • Broad understanding of Wholesale Banking (CMB and GB), financial services landscape and technology/digital developments
  • A knowledge of sound financial principles incl. savings and FTE calculations to ensure financial reporting is accurate and well-governed
  • Familiarity with Finance Systems (e.g., TM1) and a good understanding of Finance Processes for Planning, Forecasting and Intercompany
  • Understanding of CTB programme\xe2\x80\x99s lifecycle and methodologies, including cost and benefits tracking and documentation management
  • Ability to engage and influence senior business and functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish strong internal relationships
  • Previous experience working in Global Markets and/or Commercial Bank and demonstrable ability to deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders involved
  • Previous Business Analyst/ Business Management experience
  • Proven Ability to run multiple projects in parallel and gather requirements across multiple locations
  • Ability to challenge constructively and effect change
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience:
  • Experience of working in a business management function ideally with experience on Cost Management, with a keen interest in numbers and pushing for data-led decisions
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and be flexible in both mindset and approach; often having to adapt at short notice
  • Experience of navigating the HSBC Group, ideally within a change environment
Capabilities:
  • Exceptional capabilities in Microsoft Excel is essential; ability to build financial reports using power queries
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to work with and interpret large volumes of data
  • Ability to adapt communication, both written and verbal, to suit a wide range of senior stakeholders
  • Strong relationship management and influencing skills, outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders to agree strategic direction and ensure support in executing
  • High level of drive and motivation to ensure successful delivery of transformational initiatives
  • Ability to work with limited guidance and often with limited data in order to drive decisions
