Our Client is a US MNC that provides a range of products and services to businesses (B2B). They are now looking to expand into APAC with Singapore being a targeted location as their next procurement hub. The company has a vision to combine innovation, knowledge, people and products. With increasing demand, new product introductions and market expansion, they are currently looking for a Senior Category Manager to assist them and contribute in this area.
Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, your main responsibility includes leading the team that owns the Strategic Sourcing process. You must ensure sourcing and materials strategies are developed to meet the needs of internal customers and stakeholders as well as driving continuous improvement to drive innovation for all products. You are expected to have great communication skills to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Lead the team ensuring all Sourcing Strategy documents are developed for key spend areas to provide a planned, market driven approach to sourcing.
Provide guidance to sourcing activities through the utilization of applicable corporate policies.
Conduct supplier financial review. Initiate and maintain Purchase Agreements, and supplier business reviews.
Ensure deep understanding of business needs to support market analysis, and cost benchmarking by spend category.
Stay abreast of commodity prices that are significant drivers in the cost of products and the impact that commodity cost changes have on unit cost.
Travel may be required to visit suppliers/potential suppliers within the APAC region.
Profile
You must have a Degree in Supply Chain or related fields, and a minimum of 8 years experience within the B2B industry and ideally with exposure in starting up new Procurement Hub within Asia Pacific. You must possess analytical skills and data interpretation in order to use metrics to discover areas of business improvement and drive performance.
