JOB SUMMARY

To maximize sales and profitability according to Marriott Standard Operating Procedures within the Catering Section and Sales & Marketing department. To conduct all business practices according to Marriott\xe2\x80\x99s code of ethics. To work with internal and external customers according to the other key goals of the company in terms of ensuring overall guest satisfaction and associate morale. Provides leadership towards achieving goals and maintaining team spirits.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• To be a role model through leadership by example.
• To assist in accountability and responsibility for sales and product development of market or industry.
• To exceed individual assigned sales goal and shared responsibility for team members for achievement of total catering department sales budget. Derive creative upsell initiatives.
• Responsible for overall profitability of handling market / accounts. This involves resourcefulness in constantly sourcing for suppliers to maintaining high standards of quality inline with budgeted Cost of Sales and controllable expense.
• Sales administration. To be actively involved in ensuring prompt attention and follow-up on incoming phone calls, site inspections, proposal / inquiries. Accuracy in booking, commitments to customer on all sales/operational documents and adhering to the standards set by the department in execution and filing of all the said documents. To maintain daily activity and call reports.
• Maintain and keep relevant to office and Hotel computer systems.
• To be able to exercise yield management over catering space and average check.
• Actively involved in proactive marketing efforts such as competitor surveys, marketing sales initiatives, promotional events, action plan formulation and creative packaging for assigned market / accounts.
• Constantly involved in new business development or untapped potential for assigned market/ account/ hotel as a company.
• To anticipate changing guest needs, market trends and competitor product development, sales and marketing and event delivery strategies.
• To participate in budgeting and forecasting of sales, profitability or marketing statistical reporting to facilitate revenue analysis of assigned market / industry.
• To impact Guest Satisfaction Survey with ideas to improve overall guest satisfaction in terms of banquet presentations and service both in sales and event delivery.
• To be a team player motivating peers and subordinates in support of department goals, in sales and operations. Interdepartmental relations to be professional but not compromising customer satisfaction, revenue, profitability or associate morale of department / Hotel. To initiate team building activities.
• To share responsibility for development and training of direct reports. This involves assisting in setting measurable goals for direct reports \xe2\x80\x93 Catering Executive/Coordinator Development.
• Exercise empowerment where necessary to facilitate decision making in relation to department and company goals.
• Actively share ideas, opinions and offer proactive contributions in a constructive manner.
• Suggest creative ways to problem solving. Responsible to seek input from peers and subordinates through rap session. To bring to attention any misunderstandings, miscommunication to immediate superior for proper clarifications as a team and department.
• To take ownership of customer in areas from point of contact to after sales service. Investigate, identify shortfall and suggest action for recovery to ensure guest satisfaction and non-recurrence of issues in event of service recovery.
• Time management. To manage attendance at departmental meetings, projects and customer appointments and deadlines in an organized manner.
• To adhere to personal behavioural norms of integrity such as grooming, ownership, contactability, accountability, responsibility, visibility, punctuality and the like.
• Responsible for the general upkeep, cleanliness and improvement of office / desk / catering facilities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by immediate supervisor or department head according to changing business, economic, customer needs or restructure within Sales & Marketing department.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or equivalent; College degree;
• Have at least 2 years of Supervisory experience in Banquets, Catering Sales or Catering services with knowledge of Profit and Loss statements, food and wine pairing and menu composition.
• Proficient in handling wedding events is preferred.
• Able to start work anytime or within short notice period.
