Element has an opportunity for a Senior Chemist who will be primarily responsible for performing samples such as wastewater, trade effluent, and sludge and conduct chemical analysis. As the Senior Chemist you will have responsibility for both the Environmental Organics and Inorganics work areas. You will be involved in the Quality, Health and Safety, and all Technical aspects in the Chemistry and Environmental Laboratory. This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore. Job Duties: Deliver on laboratory targets including meeting Customer Expectations (TAT), Quality, H&S & Compliance Have responsibility for laboratory technical and operational processes Work with the environmental laboratory team, (including performance, training, appraisals and development) Resolve problems arising from the laboratory including performance, process, quality and technical Coordinate analytical method development and validation activities Job Responsibilities: Significant demonstrable experience (minimum 5 years) working at a senior level within a commercial testing laboratory, preferably within the environmental sector. At least 1-2 years' experience in managing an ISO 17025 accredited analytical laboratory and a proven ability to meet external accreditation requirements A minimum of degree qualified, in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry (or similar subject), with a strong technical background and an extensive working knowledge of routine/standard testing, i.e. APHA, EPA, ISO methods, for organic and inorganic parameters in environmental matrices (soils and waters) Experience of GC-MS is essential for a range of organic pollutants such as PAH, PCB's, Hydrocarbons, VOC, SVOC etc Experience of a range of analytical techniques such as GC, HPLC, Wet Chemistry, ICP-OES, ICP-MS & IC would be advantageous and demonstrated ability to deliver specific projects and tasks to agreed deadlines Exceptional time management skills, attention to detail and ability to cope under pressure amd able to manage multiple competing priorities according to business needs and customer requirements with exceptional problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills and fulfil role as authorised signatory HOW TO APPLY: Interested applicants, please submit your updated resume to [HIDDEN TEXT] All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
