Roles & Responsibilities The Senior Consultant, Underwriting & Medical Research is responsible for the followings:

• Provide underwriting expertise & knowledge to deliver and optimize each Velogica solution implementation as a leading automated underwriting solution in Asia together with Head of Underwriting & Claims for Velogica Asia
• Lead medical research to support Velogica engines development
• Support ReMark Asia / SCOR Global Distribution Solutions Asia quotations and product development
• Support the Velogica Asia new business development initiatives and RFP process
• Design underwriting rulesets for each Velogica installation
• Maintaining rulesets and ongoing communication with Velogica clients

Key Responsibilities Medical research

• Lead medical research for claims and underwriting engines and beyond to support our business
• Build underwriting and claims philosophy from medical aspects

Ruleset Design & Maintenance

• Develop ruleset designing, adaptation and decision trees for Velogica clients
• Maintain rulesets to be both scalable and robust

Local customisation

• Gain in-depth understanding of underwriting practices in local markets in Asia region
• Support the project team to translate and localize Velogica into key local languages in Asia region alongside SCOR Global Life’s local teams
• Maintain and adapt the rulesets on ongoing basis in local markets in Asia region

Key stakeholder reporting

• Provide relevant and regular Velogica project updates to key stakeholders internally and externally

Key Tasks Medical research

• Lead medical research for claims and underwriting engines and beyond to support our business
• Build underwriting and claims philosophy from medical aspects

Ruleset Design & Maintenance

• Customise ruleset design and decision trees for Velogica clients on respective products
• Maintain ruleset to be aligned within agreeable underwriting philosophy
• Support the Velogica Asia new business opportunities

Local customisation

• Adapt leading underwriting practices on ongoing basis in local markets in Asia region
• Support the project team to localize Velogica into key local languages in Asia region alongside SCOR Global Life’s local teams
• Lead Velogica testing milestones effectively and efficiently prior to Velogica go-live

Key stakeholder reporting

• Provide relevant and regular Velogica project updates to key stakeholders internally and externally in a timely manner

Engagement Internal

• SCOR global Life regional and local underwriting teams
• ReMark and SCOR Global Life client managers and project managers
• Digital solution team
• Pricing actuaries

External

• Existing and prospect clients

Experience (any additional experience requirements for this role)

• At least 5 years’ experience in medical and non-medical underwriting of all major life & health products in Asia
• Direct experience in auto underwriting and a thorough understanding of the reinsurance service model
• Prior experience in designing interactive underwriting questions for automated underwriting engines and in development of new and advanced underwriting systems

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree holder on medicine and/or business
• Fellowship of Underwriting Professional Association
