Key Responsibilities
Review and amend various contracts: contracts for the sale of products / services, contracts for the engagement of services and/or the purchase of goods (i.e. Vendor/Supplier contracts), Partnership/Alliance contracts.
Support the business on the contractual documentation for tenders.
Manage / advise the business on various contractual matters e.g. enforcement, collection of fees payable under contract (including working together with Credit Management for enforcement, legal proceedings, etc), breach, etc.
Liaise and instruct external legal counsel (where necessary) \xe2\x80\x93 for contractual matters and/or disputes arising in the Satellite business unit.
Liaise with and manage internal corporate service business units such as Risk, Tax, Finance, Procurement, Credit Management, in the contract drafting/negotiation process, to ensure both corporate governance and business objectives are met.
Working closely together with the Assistant General Counsel supporting the Satellite business unit, on various contractual matters / legal issues / disputes in relation to the Satellite business unit
Manage the contracts filing system to ensure proper archive and easy retrieval of executed contracts.
Assist with contractual negotiations with external parties where necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor\'s Degree in Law and Business
Prior in-house experience of at least 2 years, preferably handling procurement / sales contracts in the telecommunication industry
General knowledge of UK / Australia contract law / legal principles
Excellent inter-personal skills and good negotiation skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels
