Senior Counsel, APJC

Analog Devices is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a broad portfolio of high-performance analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits (ICs) used in virtually all types of electronic equipment. Since ADI\xe2\x80\x99s inception in 1965, we have focused on solving the engineering challenges associated with signal processing in electronic equipment. Used by over 100,000 customers worldwide, our signal processing products play a fundamental role in converting, conditioning, and processing real-world phenomena such as temperature, pressure, sound, light, speed, and motion into electrical signals to be used in a wide array of electronic devices.

ADI is seeking an experienced lawyer to serve as our in-house Senior Counsel based in Singapore for our APJC region. This role will report directly to the Regional General Counsel EMEA, serving as the primary Legal and Risk Oversight (\xe2\x80\x9cLRO\xe2\x80\x9d) business partner to ADI\xe2\x80\x99s APJC in-region business leaders, and work with cross-functional and regional teams of in-house lawyers, paralegals and other legal and risk specialists and support staff on all matters impacting ADI\xe2\x80\x99s business in APJC.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will gain an in-depth understanding of ADI\xe2\x80\x99s business, its risks and opportunities, and be capable of advising the company and its senior leadership regarding the same on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will also have the depth and breadth of skills and experience needed to have primary responsibility over the following matters:

  • Serve as key business partner to the business to identify and mitigate legal risks and provide legal and regulatory advice on a broad range of issues affecting ADI\xe2\x80\x99s business including corporate transactions, finance and tax transactions, entity maintenance matters, commercial and procurement support, employment matters, compliance with policies, among others
  • Serve as an accountable, primary LRO business partner to our APJC leadership team, providing actionable advice that can be swiftly incorporated into risk-based, strategic decisions
  • Perform special projects and support continuous improvement of LRO department standard work, knowledge management, and processes
  • Provide timely and accurate interpretations of the various laws and regulations affecting the company\xe2\x80\x99s business in APJC to senior leadership and operating personnel; keeping them apprised of the types of actions that require consideration and providing internal guidance regarding potential legal and risk issues
  • Keep members of the LRO leadership team apprised of in-region activities, as well as ongoing and emerging legal, regulatory and risk topics
  • Craft and review legal strategy in response to any litigation, in partnership with ADI\xe2\x80\x99s Litigation lead and appropriate ADI subject area experts
  • Manage and assist internal clients with resolving legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with enterprise business philosophy, values and strategy, and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Provide in-region support related to the protection of ADI\xe2\x80\x99s intellectual property, including support for local patent, copyright and other intellectual property registrations as requested by the worldwide IP team
  • Work closely and collaboratively with a cross-functional team of in-region lawyers, paralegals and other legal and risk professionals and support staff
  • Supervise and manage external legal counsel supporting legal projects
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction with a law degree from a reputable university
  • Minimum 7 years PQE from a \xe2\x80\x9ctop tier\xe2\x80\x9d law firm doing public company work, and/or an in-house position at a multinational company or a global. US legal qualification and experience is beneficial, but not required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
  • Experience working in a face-paced environment, with a history of advising in real-time in meetings, including to executive leadership team, providing accurate guidance and pragmatic solutions
  • Experience with laws across several jurisdictions in APJC; for example Singapore, Philippines, China and India in particular
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion) and planning skills
  • Fluency in English required; Mandarin strongly preferred. Filipino is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning) and executive presence
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role is a plus, but not required
  • Ability to travel, as needed, both in region and internationally
  • High degree of systems proficiency (including MS Office Suite, Outlook and Internet applications)
  • Singapore-based candidates preferred. International relocation may be offered for this position on a case-by-case basis.
