Job Description


Our IT team operates as a business partner proposing ideas and innovative solutions that enable new organizational capabilities. We collaborate internationally to deliver the services and solutions that help everyone to be more productive and enable innovation. A Senior Scientist leverages a deep understanding of machine learning model development and related software development to generate rapid prototypes of potential analytics products for manufacturing division. Our team works closely with complementary IT teams to develop, deploy, launch, and improve analytics products at scale in production systems. The data scientist would also take part in an ad-hoc consulting role for other efforts. The data science team participates in all project phases including ideation, business case development, project definition, data discovery and preparation, model development, product prototyping and assisting adoption. They may also be involved in product deployment through a systems life cycle and industrialization processes. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work independently in designing and developing innovative quantitative approaches (with a strong focus on machine learning and deep learning) and enable decision-making to influence key programs/projects of our Company.
  • Application of machine learning and deep learning to developing tools for process monitoring and process optimization.
  • Development of end-to-end digital solutions.
  • Understanding of customers’ or stakeholders’ needs, requirements, and expectations.
  • Build and share in-depth domain knowledge of research and trends in one or more sub-specialty areas of data analytics with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Design and guide the development of applications, platforms, and business processes to derive value through scientific analytics.
  • Stay abreast of current industry best practices and trends.
  • A software Engineering mindset to produce quality artifacts (code, models, documentation, ML pipelines, etc.)
  • A data-centric mindset
Education Requirements:
  • Masters degree with 2+ years of scientific working experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Computer Science.
  • PhD in Data Science or Machine Learning or Computer Science - recent college grad
Qualifications :
  • 2+ years of scientific working experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Computer Science.
  • Extensive knowledge of traditional supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning algorithms.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of Deep Learning algorithms.
  • Prior working experience with Python 3.x programming language.
  • Prior working experience with scikit-learn and at least one of the major Deep Learning frameworks (Keras, TensorFlow or PyTorch)
  • Familiarity with Feature Engineering (at least structured data)
  • Excellent communications skills to share info and results with tech and business users
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
  • Experience working in an Agile context
  • Experience doing ML on the cloud (AWS preferred)
  • Some exposure to Deep Learning-based Computer Vision
  • Familiarity with Feature Engineering (unstructured data)
  • Familiarity with CI and MLOps best practices
