This role supports relevant Science & Lab Solutions (SLS) Commercial stakeholders through data science projects, quantitative analytics, and the application of appropriate advanced analytics for business's key initiatives. You play a project managerial role where he supervises the activities of the data engineers and data analysts, ensuring accurate execution of their tasks and aligning activities with the business's overall vision and objectives. This role reports to the Head of Data & Analytics, and will be based in Singapore.

The Senior Data Scientist also provides:

  • Mentorship and guidance to junior data analysts/ engineers.
  • Ensuring the deliverables uphold statistical integrity.
  • Accuracy.
  • Adequacy within the project scope.
Your Role
  • Project manage a team of data analysts and big data engineers, align data projects with organizational goals
  • Work collaboratively with business, operations, and IT to bridge the gap between business needs and technical feasibility.
  • Conceive, plan and prioritize data projects
  • Lead data mining and collection procedures
  • Build analytic systems and predictive models
  • Interpret and analyze data problems
  • Communicate on data insights and create reports
  • Work collaboratively with global and country-led data teams and ensure efforts are aligned and knowledge shared across
  • Communicate and train stakeholders/ end-users on the data-generated outputs
  • Ensure data quality and integrity
  • Test performance of data-driven products
  • Drive the development of our analytical capabilities and contribute to the fostering of a data-driven culture
  • Experiment with new data science models and techniques
  • Contribute pro-actively to the continuous improvement of our tools and systems
Who You Are
  • Strong project management and leadership skills with a proactive approach to driving commercial initiatives through data.
  • A business mindset with excellent communication skills with a broad audience
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or another relevant quantitative/scientific field
  • Minimum 5 years of deep technical experience in predictive analytics, machine learning, optimization, and proficiency in the following technologies: Python (esp. PySpark), R, SQL, AWS, Tableau, Palantir (Foundry) preferred.
  • Proven track record in industrial, chemical, and biotechnology business with statistical analysis and big data methodological services
  • Expertise in developing statistical analysis and predictive modelling & simulation projects
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to structure and tackle problems, and conduct interpret analysis independently.
  • Passion for new technologies and proven learning agility.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build multi-dimensional relationships and cross-function teaming
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal)
