Senior Director, Consumer Experience, APAC

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Reporting to the VP Retail APAC, this role is responsible for leading all Consumer Experience functions; Concept Development, Visual Merchandising (VM), In-Store Communication (ISC) and Digital / Experience zones. Aligning with brand and channel strategies, enabling country teams to execute the latest, best and most consistent consumer centric propositions across a channel scope that Includes Own Retail, Wholesale and Franchise at a total APAC level, and In full conjunction with line manager and the Global Consumer Experience hub.

Act as a sounding board for the Global Consumer Experience team, Implementing global concept playbooks, but also testing and proposing new ways of working or Iterations of the same playbooks to ensure our physical environments and experiences match the ever more exacting needs of consumers In all APAC countries. Success of this role and this function also needs to be closely linked to existing channel, marketplace and city strategies to make sure that solutions are fit for purpose, elevate our brand and drive a commercial outcome with clear and tangible results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior business partner to channel leads at both a market and country level, offering expertise across all Consumer Experience functions
  • Create short and long term strategies that allow us to optimize business performance and opportunities by delivering best In class mono-brand retail and physical Wholesale experiences for consumers
  • Act as a role model for a collaborative way of working that Invites timely Input from countries to truly understand local consumer and marketplace needs and deliver propositions that satisfy those needs while operating within agreed brand guidelines
  • Work alongside channel operations, marketplace management, and brand teams to develop points of view on existing and future concept requirements, as well as permanent ISC and storytelling that results In higher sell out
  • Partner with APAC and Country channel, OCM, and associated teams to elevate capabilities to execute with excellence
  • Lead/ oversee the creation of design briefs for key halo retail projects and / or other strategic projects for WHS and FR channels, as necessary, and support throughout the sign off process, up to country handover and final Implementation
  • Ensure sign off for key or new projects In particular are aligned In full with Market Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
  • Understand CTC and APAC BU strategies, derived from global brand strategies, as well as competitor growth and concept evolution to shape and recommend advancements In our own concept / portfolio line up, Influencing store purpose and reinforcing Intentionality In everything we do
  • Ensure we balance the cost of bringing the latest and best retail experiences, touchpoints, and concepts with an Improving profitable return, especially for own retail where profitability Is under higher pressure
  • Monitor changes and evolution of the retail Industry in general and leverage this knowledge In our thinking, retaining a consumer centric focus at all times
  • Manage retail agencies enlisted with the creation of design briefs, renders and other materials In a timely, effective way within pre-defined budget and brand principles
  • Test and learn with existing Industry leading Innovations, services and touchpoints In retail to Integrate a truly omni-channel environment In physical retail.
  • Drive own area projects and tasks as necessary and In full alignment with VP Retail APAC plus colleagues within the wider APAC retail team
  • Lead, coach and develop direct reports to ensure their expertise Is optimized and support / tangible Impact on country execution Is clear at all times
  • Control of the overall budget and planning of assigned programs within area of responsibility.
  • Self-initiate assignments with emphasis on strategic, commercial and tactical focus
  • Any additional projects or tasks defined by VP Retail APAC

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive leadership and performance development experience
  • Deep functional knowledge In store design, concept development, visual merchandising and brand storytelling
  • Broad commercial knowledge of retail a clear advantage
  • Strong organization skills and flexibility
  • Visionary and strategic thinker
  • Proven track record in transformational planning and innovation
  • Interest in technical and design innovation
  • English fluent: verbal, written & spoken. Another language is an advantage.
  • IT: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects advanced. CAD is an advantage.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
  • Business Degree in applicable area
  • 10+ years of relevant experience In retail, Store Development or Design
  • Minimum of 3 years working In either a global or multi-country market organization
