Job Description

We are seeking consultant engineers who are experienced in the design commercial buildings, major infrastructure transportation projects and mixed-use developments specifically focusing on the fields of mechanical engineering and building services.

Responsibilities

• Manage an engineering delivery team
• Perform engineering duties such as design, engineering calculations, planning, tender preparation/evaluations to as part of the engineering project team
• Mentoring and team development
• QA/QC documentation review of engineering deliverables
• Liaison with clients, project managers, architects, contractors, cross disciplinary engineers as required to carry out the works
• Resolve any technical problems faced during project design and/or construction stages
• Other ad-hoc duties that are required

Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering field with minimum 8+ years of related working experience in consulting engineering role
• Engineering design of commercial buildings, major infrastructure transportation projects and mixed-use developments
• Candidates must have design experience and good understanding in the following technical systemsand procedures:
• Electrical High and medium voltage system design including substations, distribution, protection and related calculations and studies
• Low Voltage System design including power distribution, general lighting, emergency lighting, emergency power supply, critical mission power system and renewable energy systems with all the related calculations and studies
• Extra Low Voltage systems design including lighting control, Public Address and Voice Alarm, Power management, ICT and security systems.
• Should have a good knowledge and skills in using the virous Electrical software including ETAP, Amtech Pro design, Dialux and other related calculation spreadsheets and software
• All associated balance, cabling, loading and sizing calculations and equipment selections such as cable, generators, panels, etc.

• Develop, design through establishing, design briefs, design reports, calculations, schematics, schedules, specifications
• Developing Concept, Preliminary, Detailed and Construction Engineering Designs
• Productions of drawings and developing models
• Appreciation of the requirements for maintainability of systems
• Appreciation of the requirements for commissioning of systems
• Appreciation of the requirements for Automatic Control of systems
• Experience of Value Management and Value Engineering

• Knowledge of Engineering Design Codes and standards to include ASME, BSI, ISO, IEE, ASHRAE, ASRE, LEED, ASTM, ANSI, IBC, IMC, IEC, BS
• Following standards and regulations would be an advantage ACI, IATA, ICAO, GCAA
• Understanding of Environmentally Sustainable Design principles
• Understanding of the principles of low energy design
• Knowledge of project management and scheduling would be advantageous
• A broad understanding of building/construction/facility issues and the associated safety and environmental implications
• General awareness of legal requirements for safety & health and of national standard for quality (e.g. ISO9001) Understanding of BIM LODs and digital delivery
• Highly IT competent with experience of using Microsoft 365 packages, AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, BIM 360 etc.
