Purpose: To carry out calibration and maintenance for site instruments. Keep all instruments in the best operating condition and minimizing instrument breakdown. Comply with GSK GMP and EHS requirements. Responsibilities:

• Maintain the defined plant instrument to maximize plant availability and minimize disruption to the production process.
• Maintain the site instruments to high GMP standard meeting the regulatory expectations such that the site is always inspection ready.
• Support implementation and execution of the Product Contamination Cause and Elimination (PCCE) program.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and good housekeeping is maintained.
• Carry out implementation instrument related activities for minor plant modifications and capital projects, in line with defined specifications and budget.
• Takes personal responsibility for quality in all aspects of maintenance work that will have impact on product quality.
• Initiate, encourage and implement Lean Sigma activities and implement JDI/CI projects that lead to reduce overall cost and improve cost effectiveness e.g. improve instrument reliability, standardization.
• Ensure cost effectiveness of all maintenance jobs.
• Maintain and repair the defined plant instrument to maximize plant availability and minimize disruption to the production process.
• Provides timely technical advice to other departments for instrument trouble shooting / continuous improvements to processes / systems.
• Comply with GSK Safety Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Engineering Practice, GMP to carry out maintenance activities to high quality standards.
• Support implementation of the GSK Production System (GPS) for Engineering Services.
• Promote and advocate Safety, Health and Environment awareness. Lead and performance risk assessment on maintenance activities.
• Lead, supervise, develop, and motivate junior Instrument Technician for troubleshooting and faults rectification of defined equipment.
• Assist Instrument/Maintenance Engineer & Maintenance Leader to perform the routine work planning with operations counterpart to enable seamless work handover and minimize disruption to production schedule.
• Supervise and oversee 3rd party’s vendor/ in-house contractor’s maintenance and repair activities to ensure high quality and safety standard.
• Provide occasional shift coverage to minimize disruption to manufacturing.
• Provide shift coverage to peer nominated to support project work.

Requirements:

• Knowledge on calibration & maintenance of different type of instruments (temperature, flow, pressure, level and analytical instruments
• Minimum ITE Nitec in Electronics or Engineering field, with 4 years of instrument calibration and maintenance experience in process industry
• Knowledge of Standard Engineering Practice, cGMP guide, Data Integrity requirements and maintenance standards.
• Knowledge on manufacturing process and equipment.
• Basic Microsoft office skills and Computerized Maintenance Management System (SAP system)
• Effective communication skills
• Basic process safety knowledge
