About Department and Purpose of the Position

The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager will be responsible for the management of department specific projects and inpatient matters and achieve the stated delivery outcomes in assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

  • Operations (Projects)
  • Be part of the Ops team to support the Head of Department in the development of new projects
  • Support efforts in the planning, development and implementation of initiatives of the department including Ops data analysis and monitor workload, monitor the performance of Ops KPI
  • Work with stakeholders to establish the requirements from the planned initiative and identify interdependencies, clear roadblocks and balance competing requests, where required
  • Strive to complete projects KPIs within stipulated timeline
  • Perform secretarial function to the committee including minutes taking
  • Operations (Inpatient)
  • Coordinate and lead improvement projects in bed management at the ward and to lower ALOS
  • Work with clinical lead to improve and maintain all inpatient indicators such as
  • Discharge before noon
  • Hand hygiene
  • Bed occupancy rate
  • Patient experience survey score
  • Support the planning and procurement of medical and non-medical equipment requirements needed for inpatient use
  • Monitor the length of stay and bill monitoring for inpatient
  • Perform monthly clinical manpower planning
  • Customer Service
  • Response for achieving customer satisfaction targets in partnership with the Reporting Office
  • Responsible for communication between staff and leadership of the hospital. Staff should ensure timeline dissemination of information, escalation of issues, recommendation and implementation of solutions to problems
Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)
  • Disseminate and implement hospital\'s policies and procedures
  • Ensure policy and procedures are current
  • To take on additional responsibilities as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Key Requirements
  • Basic degree from a recognized institution
  • At least two years\' working experience. Healthcare experience will be added advantage
  • Analytical and with good communication skills (written & spoken)
  • Be computer literate in Microsoft Word / Excel
  • Problem-based learning
  • Positive, motivated and able to perform under pressure
  • Has initiative and able to work independently
  • Service-oriented and customer-focused
