Job Description


Overall Purpose of the Job

  • Responsible for the proper and efficient handling of all classes of claims within authority limit;
  • Technical claims specialist for the Property and Casualty book;
  • Provide claims support to various departments.
  • Coordinate complex claims matters with the management and supports risk and claims data analysis and reporting activities within the team.
  • Support due diligence for Merger & Acquisition.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of large claims across different classes of business both Treaty and Facultative claims of all classes, assessment of adequate reserves, determine coverage and the correct amount of the loss, and claim settlement;
  • Handle all classes of claims, engagement of external specialists and setting of reserves, follow-up on development, investigation of losses to final claims settlement;
  • Ensure claims governance and controls are adhered to by the team and monitoring team\xe2\x80\x99s performance. Minimise claims leakage. Monitor and ensure proper recording, filing systems and accuracy of all bookings;
  • Monitoring of cash calls/settlement loss advices;
  • Prepare and present write-ups for major losses to senior management;
  • Provide timely and accurate reports to management on large loss developments;
  • Provide structured claims insight to Management on claims trends, policy technical and claims related issues; Lead the claims insight for the Property and Casualty book;
  • Preparation of reports on claim reserves, outstanding losses and claim statistics;
  • Attend to brokers, clients and business contacts and handle their enquiries promptly and efficiently;
  • Appoint and liaise with Specialist Surveyors, Adjusters, Lawyers and other service providers as necessary;
  • Perform claims technical audits to monitor the quality of claims handling in the team;
  • Conduct due diligence and prepare report on potential M&A targets.
  • Mentoring Claims Executives and provide guidance to them on review of claims and work management;
  • Provide training to Claims Executives; and
  • Any other related duties as assigned by the Senior Management.
Required Skills / Work Experience
  • 3 to 6 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Reinsurance or Claims environment
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Be a good team player
  • Possess a good command of the English Language; proficiency in a second language preferred
  • Good IT knowledge and skills
Required Qualifications
  • Professional qualification in insurance and/or claims fields an advantage
