What the role is:The Legal Industry Division is responsible for policies relating to legal industry development, international partnerships in the legal field, legal sector regulation, and legal sector manpower development.What you will be working on:The officer will be part of a dynamic team that works to develop Singapore\'s legal services sector. The officer will support the Division\'s international partnerships efforts. This includes researching and monitoring developments in key jurisdictions, assessing overseas market opportunities, formulating and implementing legal cooperation policies and initiatives, engaging foreign government and key stakeholders, and promoting Singapore\'s legal services. The officer will need to work closely with other divisions within MinLaw as well as with other government agencies, institutions, law practices, law schools and businesses, to identify and create opportunities to support the growth of Singapore\'s legal services sector. In addition, the officer will have the opportunity to work on other areas within the Legal Industry Division.What we are looking for:*Key Competencies Required* \xe2\x80\xa2 [Deep Critical Thinking]: Distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information, arriving at effective policy solutions \xe2\x80\xa2 [Clear and Concise Writing]: Crystalise core issues via clear and concise writing \xe2\x80\xa2 [International Engagement]: Formulate and present agency\'s position at international platforms to further Singapore\'s interest *Work Experience / Personal Traits* \xe2\x80\xa2 At least 2 years\' experience in international relations and/or establishing partnerships with overseas counterparts. \xe2\x80\xa2 Highly motivated, with a strong sense of initiative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to engage people at all levels and work effectively both as an individual contributor and in a team setting. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong communication skills, with proficiency in more than one language for both spoken and written communications. Broad interest and knowledge of the legal industry, and internship or work experience overseas (in the legal sector or otherwise) would be useful.
