You will be responsible for extrusion operations and play a critical role in new product introductions through our animal cell culture platform GOOD Meat - the first and only culture meat product in a commercial space. You will work in close collaboration with our multi-disciplinary research and development, food science, product development, manufacturing operations, and engineering teams to accomplish the above. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a true ownership mindset. You are a versatile leader that excels as an individual contributor, co-collaborator, and relationship manager. You should have an innate interest for how complex cell culture and harvesting systems can be integrated with food science and processing procedures. What you'll do Support technology transfer, develop and adapt manufacturing equipment and process solutions for new products and market plans through extrusion technologies Design and conduct bench-top tests to define raw material properties relevant to product attributes such as viscosity analysis and moisture analysis Develop cost estimates, schedules, execution, and startup budgets and plans for activities Manage extrusion operations, equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance Documentation of extrusion line capabilities and processes Ensure quality and food safety by building quality control into processes Communicate effectively with stakeholders and collaborate cross-functionally Multitask on various product platforms, provide technical expertise in food process engineering and technical scale up to maintain success of GOOD Meat's existing product Build and develop training for teams interfacing with extrusion and other food processing equipment to standardize all sites Work with cross-functional teams to develop safety, quality, and operations to 'Best In Class' Build Maintenance Team Awareness around technology, process, and troubleshooting. What you'll bring A Master's degree with 5+ years of experience and/or a Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline with at least 8 years of experience in a Food/Beverage and/or Biotech/Nutrition company Must have experience working with pilot/commercial scale food processing, knowledge in unit operations and process equipment in food pilot-plant. Experience in extrusion, particularly high/low moisture extrusion is a must Significant experience working with Food or Biotech R&D teams and facilities Ability to multi-task and meet aggressive deadlines for pilot scale production Our ideal candidate will have held multiple roles that have been both plant and corporate based with an emphasis on production and R&D Demonstrable ability to lead manufacturing scale-up projects in food/beverage You are skilled in application development using laboratory equipment and pilot plant equipment Proficient in developing quality systems such as HACCP, GMP, SQF Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
