Role Responsibilities
TTO is a 40k+ person, $4bn cost base organisation that provides change technology solutions and operational excellence for the bank. TTO is a fast-paced environment undergoing significant transformation.
This role is the Financial Controller for TTO Finance and a trust partner to the TTO Finance MT in maintaining strong financial control environment of the TTO organization.
This role is the key contract for the Global TTO Finance team with Regional and Group Finance on financial control related matters, with oversight of R2R activities, covering a wide breadth of topics and stakeholders in a dynamic and fast pace working environment.

Accounting Control, Governance and Change

  • Drive awareness and accountability across TTO/Functions of the management of the balance sheet. Examples include embedding best practice management of accruals and prepayments, cross border recharges and robustness of the fixed asset register as well as the controls around software development intangibles.
  • Influence the guidance on finance policies to adequately reflect the appropriate controls pertaining to Functions / TTO costs.
  • Monitor any ongoing Functions / TTO Finance sample reviews performed by GFORP Quality Assurance or R2R Controllers.
  • Plays a lead role in facilitating queries such as audit, regulatory reporting requirements, tax / transfer pricing matters.
  • Responsible for management of SLAs for Functions / TTO Finance.
  • Support for tight control and management of reporting hierarchies and appropriate booking of costs across chart of accounts. Including simplification such as rationalisation of cost chart of account lines and better control of usage of chart account lines, drive centralization of cost booking process (whereever possible), etc.
  • Be a strong advocate for better cost control through influencing how we manage cost 'data' end to end through the organisation. For example, linking how we optimise data on vendor spend from procure to pay to planning to drive better insight. Influencing what meta data is captured across systems to leverage.
  • Accountable for ensuring robust controls for investment accounting and support various initiatives such as impairment reviews, R&D claims, etc.
  • Support regular review of Obsolescence / decommissioning of applications and present the outcome to TTO CFO, TTO Finance MT members for agreement and drive the implementation of the outcome.
Oversight and Control of TTO Recharges
  • Shape and drive optimisation of recharges through simplification and standardisation. Covering everything from TPS, Ops, DCR and other end user-based service changes (to name a few). Influence the thinking on automation and standardisation of allocation engines, allocation rules, allocation keys and ultimately the ease at which SCB can settle cross border recharges and business charges end to end.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation in place regarding principles of controls such as allocation recharge methodologies.
Collaboration with Internal Finance Team
  • Acts as a bridge across the TTO / Functions finance team, various GFS R2R sub teams, GFS P2P, GFP&A, country finance, tax, transfer pricing, technical accounting teams to monitor the health of financial controls and help ensure quick resolution to control failures both in the short term and driving long term optimisation. Drive metric and data led conversations.
  • A member of various finance forums representing (e.g Singapore's Finance Operational Risk Team Meetings).
Risk Management
  • Responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group.
  • Interpret the Group's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
  • Ensure a full understanding of the risk and control environment in area of responsibility including listing requirements and disclosure obligations.
Governance
  • Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
  • Responsible for delivering 'effective governance'; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Our Ideal Candidate
  • University educated
  • Qualified Accountant i.e. CPA, CMA, ACCA.
  • Finance experience of 10+ years, with specialization in Financial Control and Balance Sheet Management, in Financial Institutions or Tech field.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity of technology and operations recharge models.
  • Super user and mastery of finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with the bank's financial systems and control frameworks.
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with maturity and confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong integrity, with a high sense of independence and accountability.
  • Attention to detail and familiarity of SCB Finance systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think laterally.

  • Inquisitive, self-starter with a 'can-do' mindset.
  • Able to multi-task, deal with fluidity in role and changing priorities in a fast pace environment.
