What the role is:
The Academic Research Division supports the vision of building a world-class research eco-system in Singapore. We work closely with the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) and support them to develop high-quality teaching, peaks of excellence in research, innovation and enterprise (RIE), and a vibrant academic environment. As a Senior Head/ Senior Manager in the Academic Research Division, you will be part of a team developing and implementing policies in shaping our RIE/ Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) research ecosystem, and safeguarding Singapore's RIE and security interests in the international arena.
What you will be working on:

• Formulate and implement policies/ guidelines and funding programmes to (i) develop the national postgraduate research manpower pipeline in the Autonomous Universities (AUs) to support research excellence; and (ii) advance SSH research ecosystem o Engage stakeholders to develop policies and strategies as part of the next bound of RIE2030 planning o Provide secretariat support for the Social Science Research Council, Academic Research Council and/ or other advisory committees o Support the evaluation of research proposals and manage a portfolio of research projects, including monitoring research deliverables and progress o Review policies and programmes related to international research collaborations in our IHLs to improve their governance, impact, value capture and effectiveness This is an individual contributor role. What we are looking for:

• Prior experience in public policy, research management, international relations, geopolitics or sector development preferred, but not mandatory o A meticulous and resourceful individual o Ability to work well independently as well as in teams o Strong analytical, numeracy and quantitative analysis skills o Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills In general, applicants can expect to hear from us within 3 weeks of the close of the application window.
